NESOI seeks to give the EU islands the chance to test their cutting-edge energy technology and methods in a cost-effective manner.
In order to develop self-sufficiency, fight against climate change, and achieve stable, cheaper, cleaner energy, EU islands must cooperate. This is because islands are more vulnerable to the consequences of climate change due to shore erosion, water shortages, and other factors. To do so, islands have to understand what the most relevant opportunities for their ecosystem are, starting from the redaction of Island Sustainable Energy Action Plans (iSEAPs) that will be promoted by NESOI, to implementing consolidated and innovative technologies for Renewable Energy Sources, Energy Efficiency (EE), Storage and Clean Transport.
