By promoting low-carbon energy and investing in it, NESOI will improve living conditions on EU islands, drive down energy costs locally, improve the area's environment and economy, and reduce migration from islands to the mainland. This will ensure the preservation and appreciation of local communities and their associated socio-economic and cultural legacies.
In addition, NESOI will contribute to creating at least 250 direct jobs thanks to triggered investment by the NESOI platform and more than 1000 jobs along the 10 years period following the project (2023-2033)
